My Story
Hi I'm Jill, a nurse who knows the frustration of dealing with dry, scaly skin - especially on my hands, which I constantly wash and sanitise at work. I tried many different commercial soaps hoping to improve my skin, but none of them made a difference. Then, my youngest daughter, Jade encouraged me to make my own!
As I researched commercial soaps, I was surprised (and a little worried) by the number of harsh chemicals, additives, and synthetic ingredients used. That's when I decided to handcraft my own soap - using sustainably sourced and as natural as possible soap bases, which I then enrich with my own high-quality ingredients.
With encouragement from my family (and their eager help testing my creations!), I finally had soap that left my skin feeling soft and nourished.
Since then, my range has grown to include exfoliating bars, liquid and foaming soaps (for humans and dogs) and moisturisers - all made by hand in small batches.
To complement my soaps and moisturisers, I also offer a selection of bath bombs, bath bombs wands and floats, shower steamers, sugar scrubs, whipped body washes, and hair perfume. These are made in small batches by a trusted local maker whose values and quality match my own. Each product is thoughtfully chosen to align with the same gentle, skin-loving standards.
Everything you'll find here is selected or made with care - lovingly created, gentle on the skin, and designed to bring a little moment of self-care in every jar, bar, or bomb!
What began with help from Jade @alittletame has now grown into something new. Welcome to Silver Nettle! The "Silver" honours my dear mum and "Nettle" represents my husband, my three daughters and me!
